-Why did God "look with favor" on Abel's offering and not Cain's?

-What is the meaning of Lamech's statement at the end of chapter 4?

In Gen 4:9 we see God ask Cain “Where is your Brother?” In Gen 3:9 - God asks Adam “where are you?” - What was the purpose of this questioning? Have you been similarly questioned by the Holy Spirit? How and Why?
