Pack your bag and join us as we bid farewell to our VRBO on Skye and stop at the Sligachan Bridge, part of the John Muir Trust as we make our way through the Scottish Highlands. The Sligachan Old Bridge was built between 1810 and 1818 by engineer Thomas Telford. The bridge is for pedestrians and cyclists only following construction of a new road bridge parallel to it on the A87 (Wikapedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sligachan )

The recently commissioned bronze statue is of hikers John MacKenzie and Professor Norman Collie who climbed Scotland's well known Cuillins mountains on the Isle of Skye.

Legend says anyone brave enough to dip their face in the water for 7 seconds will be granted eternal beauty by the faeries. https://www.wingingtheworld.com/sligachan-bridge-isle-of-skye/
