THEOLOGIAN: JESUS HIMSELF STARTED THE FIRST WOMEN'S LIBERATION MOVEMENT

18K

The influence that Christ had on the men in His day has been celebrated for two thousand years. The overlooked question within mainstream Christianity remains to be: What influence did He have upon women, and what statements did His words and actions make in relation to gender equality? Is it possible that while Jesus Christ, Himself, recognized appropriate gender roles, He also intentionally began the first Women s Liberation Movement? As sensational as this may sound, the proof is in the Word of God, and in the proper contextual analysis of it.

  • Oh rebellious women, you which cause the people to err. Repent, and turn from feminism. Isaiah 3:12 King James Version 12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

  • Biblical teachings given to the Church Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. (1 Corinthians 34-35) A woman a should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. (1 Timothy 11-12) But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the HEAD OF THE WOMAN IS MAN, and the head of Christ is God... If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice nor do the churches of God. (1 Corinthians 11:3 & 16) ...They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and CALLED HIM HER LORD. (1 Peter 3:5-6) Jesus chose 12 people to be his closest followers/disciples. All 12 were men. When Judas died and was replaced, it was again, with a man. Then when Jesus chose an "Apostle to the gentiles..." again he chose a man. As helpers godly women followed Jesus during his ministry, and godly women helped in the work of the Apostles, but leadership is always given to men, as is clear from the instructions given to the Church. The Scriptures above are given to the Church. Those who follow them live by the Holy Spirit. Anyone who rejects them is living by the spirit of this corrupt world. Trying to rationalize/justify your arguents is evidence that you are living in sin.
