Savory Waffles with Sausage and Cheddar 😋👇
Give your end of the week waffles a make-over by adding exquisite wiener and cheddar. Sprinkled with maple syrup or finished off with a seared egg, these waffles make certain to be another number one!

Equipment
• Skillet
• Mixing Bowl
• waffle iron

Ingredients
• Sausage (Ingredients can be change as per your preference Eg. Chicken or Fish)
• 4 oz Cheddar Cheese, grated (Ingredients can be change as per your preference Eg. Fresh milk)
• 4 cups Waffle Batter, prepared (see note)
Optional Toppings:
• Fried Eggs
• Green Onions, chopped
• Maple Syrup
• Butter

Instructions
1. Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until golden brown and crisp, 5 to 7 minutes. Set sausage aside to cool for 5 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, grate cheese and prepare waffle batter.
3. Combine cheese and cooked sausage with waffle batter, stirring just until everything is evenly incorporated.
4. Heat a waffle iron. Spray with nonstick cooking spray and pour batter into hot iron. Close and cook until waffles are cooked through and golden brown (this took 4-5 minutes in our iron; the waffles are usually done when they stop steaming).
5. Serve waffles immediately with any (or all!) of the optional toppings.
