Off Grid with Dave and Sonya: an Anyone Can Farm conversation

Dave & Sonya Boone have been married 29 years, have an adult son & daughter, both married and a 16 month old grandson. They live on a 5 acres homestead in SE Michigan, where they have chickens, vegetable & herb gardens, fruit trees, multiple kinds of berries and an mushroom garden. They are both self employed, Sonya makes professional fancy cakes and Dave does manufacturing consulting & handyman type work.
They recently designed and converted a 7x14 cargo trailer and turned it into an off grid tiny home, complete with 22 solar panels that will run a mini split (ac/heat) a refrigerator & freezer, microwave and an air fryer.
They are well versed in the many ways of food preservation, including freeze drying & have a knack for bartering. They are really focusing on expanding there self-sufficiency skills & networking with other like minded folks.
