Rockets, Artillery, Missiles, Mortars and the new growing danger of drones are constat threats for troops in combat zones and critical military and civilian infrastructure.

So how can those threats effectively be countered before doing any harm to previously named things?

Well, to do so a special air defence weapon system was introduced.

The C-RAM. C-RAM stands for Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar and is a set of systems used to detect and/or destroy incoming rockets, artillery, and mortar rounds in the air before they hit their ground targets, or simply provide early warning.

HALCON a subsidiary of EDGE GROUP from the United Arab Emirates introduced its SKYKNIGHT first self developed C-RAM system earlier this year.

The thing that makes it special is that, unlike other Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar systems, SKYKNIGHT is the only missile based C-RAM system next to Israels Iron Dome.

SkyKnight has a maximum range of 10 km, and is being integrated into the Skynex air defence system, developed by Rheinmetall Air Defence around its Oerlikon Skymaster command and control system, linked to sensors and effectors via a tactical communications network, allowing a very flexible configuration.
