Boat sinks in northern Brazil, 63 people had been rescued and 11 bodies had been found, 26 missing

The Brazilian Secretariat of Public Security has reported the death of at least 14 people and the search for 26 missing in the sinking of a boat near the city of Belém, in the north of the country.

The boat was traveling between the island of #marajó and #Belém, when for unknown reasons it sank near the island of #Cotijuba.

According to the authorities, the boat lacked a passenger transport permit and had departed from a clandestine port.

Firefighters continue search and rescue tasks with the help of divers, nine boats and a helicopter.
