Meet Up Catch-Up Problem Combination: Problem 4
3 years ago
1
Problem: Two ants are climbing an isosceles triangular bar. AB = AC = 360 cm. The first ant can travel 3 cm per second, while the second ant can travel 12 cm per second. The first ant continuously goes back and forth on AB, while the second ant continuously goes back and forth on DE. The two ants start climbing at the same time. Wherever the two ants are, they always form an isosceles triangle with point A. What could be the largest area to that isosceles triangle?
Key: Zig-zag charts
