Joe Biden stated reason for entering into the Presidential campaign of 2020 was due to the fact that Donald Trump, when addressing Charlottesville, stated "they were fine people on both sides."
The media, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post, MSNBC, all ran with the story and spread the idea that Trump was a racist, despite the fact that the President very quickly stated he did not mean to neo-Nazis are the white nationalists.
