Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has paid tribute to Britain's longest-serving monarch, who died at the age of 96.
"Over the course of a remarkable seven decades, Her Majesty was a rare and reassuring constant amidst rapid change," Mr Albanese said.
"Today marks the end of an era – the close of the second Elizabethan age.
"This time of mourning will pass, but the deep respect and warm regard in which Australians have always held for Her Majesty will never fade. May she rest in eternal peace."
