This is a capture of me playing through the arcade version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. This is being played with online multiplayer through the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection for the Switch. I'm using Mike (Michelangelo).

Following up on my playthrough of the original Ninja Turtles arcade game from 1989, here’s the sequel from 1991. I actually wasn’t aware as a kid that Turtles in Time was originally an arcade game. I had only seen the original 1989 arcade machine and I rented the SNES version of Turtles in Time, so I assumed that Turtles in Time was just an SNES game. But it turned out that Turtles in Time was similarly an arcade title that was later ported and expanded upon with a home console release.

This is the first time I have ever played or beaten the arcade version of this game, so it was interesting seeing how different it was from the SNES version. Aside from the four-player support, I think the SNES version has this game beat overall, which is really surprising.

As you can see, there was almost no lag with just two people initially, but once we had a third and fourth player join, there was noticeable lag, though it wasn’t too bad overall with the initial group. In fact, this is the best group I have played with in either game so far. Someone must have accidentally skipped the credits at the end (I wasn’t even aware you could do that), so that’s why they’re not included here. Overall, this is an excellent arcade game, and I think it might be easier than the first one.

This was played in the evening on September 5, 2022.

Recorded with the Elgato Game Capture HD60 and the Switch's HDMI cable at native 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. I'm using a Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa joystick.
