Depression, Anxiety, and Mental illness are genuinely not your fault. As a toddler/child (ages 1-7), your mind records everything you see and hear, creating your belief system. Your behavior and learning are a byproduct of what you experience. You become what you witness and are subject to your environment (immediate family). What adults would consider dangerous in their environment is nothing more than an average day of exploration for you. Like the Jesuits said, “Give me a child until the age of seven, and I will show you the man.” Your progress is limited strictly by your imagination. If you believe what people say about you and what the television (tell-lie-to-your-vision) presents to your eyes, you will continue to struggle.
