Fears a Chinese takeover of Taiwan is ‘inevitable’

Chinese warships are taking up positions around Taiwan ahead of four days of live fire exercises.

Beijing announced the exercises as part of its reaction to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.

In response to the visit, China’s military is conducting its largest drills aimed at Taiwan in more than 25 years, which will last through to Sunday.
