"If You Give a Child a Book" campaign

Data from the California Department of Education shows that Black and Hispanic youth in Kern County and across the state fall behind other kids when it comes to reading at grade level. The Kern Literacy Council hopes to change that with the help of the Scripps Howard Fund’s “If You Give a Child a Book” campaign.
