Two friends told 23ABC's Keeley Van Middendorp they love to read books with characters that look like them. They've learned life lessons like how to stand up against discrimination because of stories based on the lives of people like Martin Luther King, Jr., and Michelle Obama. Kendal says she especially likes to read about people who have been through adversity.
