Murders Among The Homeless: A Serial Killer on the Loose?

Brooke, a young homeless woman, tells us that a serial killer is rampantly murdering mostly homeless women dumping their bodies dumped in the Jordan River.

Back in January Utah Stories investigated several homeless people telling me that every week another body was being discovered dumped in the Jordan River by the police and their acquaintances, and the total back in January 2022 was 42 bodies (according to the homeless we spoke to).

If this figure were accurate this would be the highest murder rate in Salt Lake City's history.

Utah Stories reached out to the Salt Lake City Police Department twice and they would not confirm or deny the number, nor would they return phone calls for comment.

In this episode of the Utah Stories Podcast, we speak to Eric Peterson an Investigative Journalist who recently wrote an article for City Weekly about the murder of a young homeless man. Eric also found that the SLCPD does not want to provide the number of homeless people murdered.

According to Brooke, the homeless woman from Utah County who is camping in west of downtown Salt Lake City, 62 homeless bodies have been found and the police refuse to investigate. Eric also has found that despite the homeless coming forward with evidence and clues, the police is not investigating these murders.
