HOW TO GET HELP:

There is a growing phenomenon of poorly trained and improperly equipped spiritual leaders. There is also a growing number of heretical and fad teachings that lead to a performance-based relationship with God. When you combine these elements, the results are many people experiencing spiritual damage and confusion.

The Spiritual Abuse Recovery Workbook can be used by an individual, or by a support group. There are over 100 questions designed to provoke deep thinking about the abuse experience. The Workbook is available on Amazon at this link - https://amzn.to/3s3VzqI.

If you find you are one of those people trying to make sense of an encounter with spiritual abuse, or are a pastor who has opportunity to minister to those affected by previous hurtful religious experiences, I want to hear from you.

Feel free to call (706-575-6869) or email (dhenkewatchman@gmail.com). We can help.

In this episode I discuss "spiritual suicide." There are many beautiful believers who have calls on their lives. Calls to do the will of God in many ways. But there is a person in their lives who fits the description of the "Spiritual Abuser."

They see something in that called person's life they envy. They see the love they have for the Lord and the devotion to Him in everyway. The Spiritual Abuser may on one hand love them, but on the other hand hate that loving believer. They zero in on them and work to "steal, kill and destroy" Christ in them.

Many of these believers have been so beaten down. All of that once flaming fire of love burning in their hearts to run in the path of their call becomes extinguished. They begin to doubt their call they once started out with, and have been driven to the point of committing their own spiritual suicide. They live on dwelling as "a smoking flax" in the shadows.

Bottom line, all spiritual abuse is of the enemy to "steal, kill and to destroy" their victims. It is critical for everyone to identify what spiritual abuse is and seek help from God, and from trusted, strong, Biblical counseling. Jesus comes to give life and that more abundantly. To give all of His people the beautiful "liberty of the children of God."

“God nowhere tells us to give up things for the sake of giving them up. He tells us to give them up for the sake of the only thing worth having--viz., life with Himself. It is a question of loosening the bonds that hinder the life...”
