Taliban says reopening of girls’ schools in Afghanistan’s Paktia province “under investigation”
The decision by tribal elders to reopen five girls’ schools in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Paktia without Taliban approval is “under investigation,” Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid confirmed Wednesday.
“If girls’ schools would be opened that would be announced by the ministry of education, the reopening of schools in Paktia is under investigation; we don't have details yet,” Zabiullah said in a press conference.
