Are robots replacing human soldiers?

The U.S. Army is currently working on the "Avatar Project" which aims to remotely control robot soldiers for field missions in the same way as drones.

Are robots the future of warfare? After drones, which allow pilots to be kept away from conflict zones, the American army is developing a robot soldier project, reveals the Danger Room blog of the American website Wired. The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has just allocated 7 million dollars (5 million euros) of its 2013 budget for the "Avatar project".
