Set of early Christianity and Gnostics codices in a jar at the base of the Jabal al-Tarif cliffs, Nag Hammadi in Egypt around C200 AD.
Originally written in Greek and translated into Coptic.

Three mythological treatises and one story with hidden meaning of the soul. Circa 175-320Adin Syria.
The papyrus was in good condition. Title was at the end and potentially added later.
It is not actually a gospel. A collection of sayings and meditations belonging to different genres.

Sophia myth. Her eagerness to rejoin her spiritual companion, the Logos (divine reason). That is herself in her true nature. The Source. After creating without instruction. It is symbolic of what exists in the Universe.
When Eve was in Adam result no Death (Unity and Knowledge), When they separated result Death (ignorance). So with Humanity. A spiritual sense. If female not separated from male and male not from female.
