For some reason, despite his having lived within living memory, there doesn't seem to be much agreement on the pronunciation of 'Dunsany'. Even within the same source, like Librivox, different narrators use different pronunciations. Ugh. Much of the problem, I'm sure, is that most of the people narrating or talking about him are American, who don't know and don't care what the correct pronunciation is :-P

Well, I finally found an interview with the current Baron of Dunsany, and he said the word himself, so that's what I'm going with. If you don't like it, you can take it up with Randal Plunkett directly! (Of course, it turns out Randal is also an American, so...)

'Abode' and 'god' as rhymes? Clearly not for just a hundred years ago. It must have been written as an intentional slanted rhyme.
