US actor Leonardo DiCaprio, 22 years older than Camila Morrone, who had been in love for five years, first met the young model in 2008, when Camila was only 12 years old. Introduced to Camila by Al Pacino, Leonardo apparently remained friends with the family for years.

Leonardo and Camila were formally reunited in 2017.

Later in 2018, an anonymous source told People: The two were 'extremely serious and very much in love' and 'talked about the engagement', she said. The source also claimed that Leo 'never loved a woman like this' and was even considering having children with her new love.

According to the Daily Mail, In 2019, both Camila and her films at the Cannes Film Festival forced DiCaprio's determination not to pose together. However, the two did not join Cannes together, and Leonardo did not refer to Camila as his "girlfriend."

The two continued to walk separately on the red carpet in 2020, but made their first public appearance as a couple when they sat together at the Oscars that year.
