12-10-1988 - Chris DiPippa Gets A Big Sack Against Aliquippa

In September 2021 Berwick Football lost one of their all-time greats. In my opinion the Aliquippa State Title Game might be the biggest win in the program's history. Being the Quips were ranked #2 in the nation going into that game and Berwick had the rare occasion of being the underdog. Who can recall the Pittsburgh Newspapers saying Berwick shouldn't even show up in the week leading up to that game? Chris played a big part in our line making Sean Gilbert, who would later star at Pitt and go on to be the #3 overall draft pick in the 1992 NFL Draft, a non-factor in that game. He was a huge part of what was perhaps our greatest win. Prayers for his family and may he RIP.
