As For Me and My House…

Joshua 24:14-15

1. self…
• self is a modern day god and liar, telling you that the world is all about you and that that your happiness is most important of all.
• The world is constantly aimed at worshipping self-appealing to ego, physical stature, or empty happiness.
• Following the god of self will lead away from God. (Jer. 17:9, Prov. 14:12)
• Put the god of self to death and serve the Lord. (Matt. 16:24-26, Col. 3:1-5)

2. Obedience…
• We must choose obedience to God, including prayer.
• The thought of obedience comes with rebellion, but we must remember that God is a loving father.
• Faith often times includes blind obedience to God, knowing that He loves us and plans the best outcomes for our lives. (John 14:15, Mark 12:29-31))

3. Integrity and Honor…
• We are called to treat people with honor. All man is created in God’s image, and therefore are worthy of honor. (1 Pet. 2:17)
• There is no loophole in the bible for political strife.
• We serve the King of Kings. We have been called to a higher power and it should show in out choices, words, actions, and deeds.
• A light shines brightest in the darkest of places.
