What Are Band Pass Filters and Why Would you Use them?

In a recent purchase I bought a band pass filter for use when I am out operating in parks on the air. Today I want to briefly explain what a band pass filter is and in what situations would you want to use one. Band pass filters can be very useful tools if you know when and where to use them in your ham radio operations.
