Alex In The City "The Road To Chongqing" Episode 10
In Episode 10, called "The Road To Chongqing", I share my experience of the Huang'ge Ancient Trail, which began in the Tang Dynasty. The ancient merchants pulled their goods from the docks of the Yangtze River; they would take a short rest here when they passed by. We take a walk down this historic road to see how it's changed. The vast mountains in Southwest China were always barriers isolating this region. At that time, the only way of transporting goods was through porters and caravans. For their convenience, a relay station was set up here. The Huang'ge Ancient Trail is a logistics channel. The primary commodities are living essentials such as tea and medical herb from Yunnan and Guizhou, silk, Shu embroidery, bronze ware, and porcelain from Sichuan and Chongqing.

Nowadays, the Huang'ge Ancient Trail has become one of the mountain forest trails of Chongqing. The porters and caravans have disappeared into history, and this trail is now welcoming local tourists and will open up to the international market.

Chongqing-A new series of vlogging is coming to Chongqing. Let me introduce myself. My name is Alex, and I have recently moved to Chongqing, China. I was born in Canada, but I have always been interested in China. The population of Chongqing is similar to that of my country. Some people might think that a vlogger it's just a person talking about him or herself, and maybe that's how it was many years ago. Some vloggers create educational content, and others talk about their political views or experiences. I try to inspire and motivate people to change their perceptions of China.
