Join Shelly and Eiko for “What Makes a City Livable?| Foodwise and Tour in Chongqing and Singapore| Lau Pa Sat Food Court and Jiefangbei”

In 2022, ECA International, an international human resource consulting company published a conclusion that Singapore has remained the most liveable location in the world for expatriates from East Asia. Well-known as a country with beautiful scenery, clean air, and pleasant weather all year, Singapore attracts not only tourists but also expatriates to settle.

Chongqing, the biggest municipality in Southwestern China, is moving forward to a more liveable future due to its lately-years development. More walk paths, trails, and parks were built in this city, along with more leisure facilities being put into use. In 2021, the number of migrants outside the city reached 2.2277 million, an increase of 31.7% of the population over 2015. Like Singapore, the immigrant history in Chongqing has generated fushion culture in food, language, and lifestyle.

Infrastructure, housing, availability of health services......what makes a city liveable? iChongqing invited Shelly, a girl who lives in Singapore and loves traveling, to walk on Lau Pa Sat Food Court, and the surrounding area in Singapore CBD tomorrow. Eiko will be walking on the Food Court in Jiefangbei, one of the CBD and historical sites in Chongqing as well. And there will be a discussion about the liveable city, the tourism, and most importantly, we’ll be showing you the beautiful streets and foods in both cities.
