Hi this is Josh Dream body clinic and the patient you're going to see here came to us from Canada and he has a bit of dementia going on, early stages of Alzheimer's. He's father of a guy who's become a friend of mine and he needs some help.
They heard about what we're doing here through another friend of ours and he came down. So unfortunately, you know, Alzheimer's very tough disease. There's not a lot you can do for. But fortunately, we were finding what the stem cells that people are regaining cognition. They're more aware, they're not forgetting things.
They're not losing track your context in the middle of sentences. So it's been really cool to watch and going intrathecal has been the biggest part of this. So this patient, he did an I V. He also did the intrathecal and we even fixed up a, a, an ankle problem that he has. But in this video, we're going to focus on the intrathecal.
This is where we go into the spinal fluid. It's a real tiny needle. It's a 30 gauge. It's just kind of long the needle. And our anesthesiologist gets there into the spinal fluid. And in this case, injected 50 million mesenchymal stem cells. The reason we want to apply them this way is that they go straight to.
They're right in the spinal fluid, they go up to the cerebral spinal. And that is like a bath that your brain is sitting in and the more they study it, the more amazing things they find about it. That is where a lot of the neuronal connection is. You know, the electricity is firing, sending communications.
A lot of the, the immune cells in the brain are there. They used to think there was no immune activity in the brain. They found there's a lot of immune activity there. And the whole process, um, the stem cells get in there and they start making sure that the immune system's working properly protecting it, making sure they're getting rid of any scar tissue that could be in the way, making sure that they're sending out trophic factors to guide the neurons, to regenerate where they need to making sure that nerves are firing properly.
And because of this, we're finding that it improves cognition. There's quite a few studies out there too, but man, when you see it in person, you see a patient that's done this and you just, you hear the way they talk after the way that they're focused. It's pretty incredible. So that's what we're doing in regards to Alzheimer's and dementia.
Right now we're mostly just treating people or early stage. We're not sure we do believe this would work with more advanced stages, but it's very tough to travel in those situations. We are down here in port of our, to Mexico and like anything it's always better when you catch things early. So feel like your memories slip in, or mom or dad, you feel like they're kind of forgetting things.
This is a really good way to get them back on track and prevent that because I used to work in memory care and the. The assisted living has that the certain division where they have the memory care for the Alzheimer's and dementia patients. And it's just not a fun place. So, you know, do your best to make sure mom or dad don't end up there.
Stem cells are a great way to do that. And if you'd like to learn more, just give us a call it's toll free (833) 445-9089.
