Japan's Digital Minister Taro Kono has "declared a war" on floppy discs and other retro technology used in the country and is looking to phase them out. Around 1,900 government procedures still require businesses to use floppy discs, CDs and mini-discs, the Minister noted. At a recent conference, he asked, "Where does one even buy a floppy disc these days?"
