Sniper Elite 5 Invasion - Karl had no plan

I'm standing on Karl's last known location and he came running into full view of it knowing I pinged it with the Yager phone. He obviously did not plan that I'd check spot. The final mistake was at the end when I heard him running so I checked upper floor but when he opened the door which is unnecessary to do to get in that room and there's only doors downstairs near the safe so I knew exactly where he'd be.
