BC, electric detective .just the facts m’am

I thought I could save the switch on my saw. I managed to get it to work while holding the switch in. I don’t understand how it works, well enough to figure out what is wrong with it. My suspicion is that the coil is burned out and will not magnetize and hold the contact panel. The rest of the day went really well. I finished the knife it’s beautiful and it’s for sale.
