Bow to Real Authority (Matthew 21:23-27)

"Saving face" is a curious expression for me. All my life it's come with a question: "Whose?" "Whose face are you saving?" Your own? Some one else's? I mean, is it pride doing it? If you whoops, congrats, you're a broken person in a broken world. Welcome to the club (All humans save one, The ONE Who IS GOD-Made-Flesh, YESHUA) So, again, whose face? Owning mistakes is the first step to getting it right. 1000 ways to make a light bulb right? But only one that works. So, 1000 ways to go. Only one works. Are you acting to not look foolish? To whom? GOD? People? Yourself? GOD sees arrogance as foolishness (See most of Proverbs) So again, whose face are you saving? I'd argue not your own if you can't even be honest with GOD about what's going on. Much like today's verses. Religious leaders who were more worried about saving face than saved souls. More worried about maintaining their own little pit of hell than letting go of their pride and walking free. Proverbs 29:23, (Spoilers) Matthew 23:12, Luke 1:52, James 4:6, Proverbs 3:34, just to name a few all speak on pride going before the fall (Also in Proverbs) So which road are you going to take? The one that leads to the fall or the one that leads to life? Humility is the only way to go. So which will you choose?
