MANHUNT: SEARCH FOR THE NIGHT STALKER 1989 - NBC Made-for-TV Movie broadcast on Nov 12th, 1989. Based on the true story of Serial Killer and Satanist Richard Ramirez, known as the Night Stalker due to his method of entering homes unnoticed, robbing and killing the occupants. The movie tells of how he terrorized California in 1985 and of the two Los Angeles police detectives who try to track him down.

Either by accident or design, NBC broadcast the movie Nov. 12, 1989, the very day that a judge announced the sentencing of Ramirez to the gas chamber. Ramirez died before execution on June 7, 2013.
