Myanmar sentences Suu Kyi to hard labor

Aung San Suu Kyi, the deposed former leader of Myanmar has been found guilty of electoral fraud by a court in the military run country. Suu Kyi was sentenced to three years in prison with hard labor, according to a source familiar with the court proceedings in Myanmar. This is the first time the Nobel Peace Prize winner has been sentenced to hard labor since the military coup in 2021. She was given hard labor in another trial in 2009, but that sentence was commuted.
