Citation Smallmouth on a Madtom | Live Bait Wade Fishing

Steve took a trip out with some old friends in search of Smallmouth Bass on the Shenandoah River. Their bait of choice… Madtoms. Also knows as Willow Cats and other local slang, this “miniature catfish” is the ideal bait for tracking down the big Bronze backs as they hide under the rock ledges.
The trip pays off in a big way, with Keith hooking into a citation sized Smallmouth. (no we didn’t weigh/measure it, just best estimation). It’s a fish anyone would be proud of.
