Male Lions Reinforcing Social Bonds | Gay Pride? | African Safari Sighting

Two Majingilane male lions reinforcing the social bonds that keep a coalition strong. Males mounting one another is often dismissed as a show of dominance - here we see the two lions swapping places to show that dominance is nothing to do with the situation.
Many people would like to use this as an example of homosexuality in nature. These lions are not "Gay" in the LGBTQ+ sense of the word, this is homosexual behaviour in the sense that it is two animals of a single sex interacting - but it is in no way a sexual act. there is no penetration, or even stimulation of the reproductive organs of either male. Lions do not find intercourse pleasurable, it is a painful act only necessary for reproduction. Even if it were a sexual act that would make these males "Bi" in the LGBTQ+ sense as they are (now were as they are long since deceased) successful pride males with many lionesses and cubs. Gay Pride in the title is just wordplay using the fact that the name for a lion group is a pride.
There are indeed examples of true homosexuality in nature with a number of species having lifelong same sex partnership both celibate, and involving full sexual gratification, depending on the species.Show more

A similar interaction between two lions in Kenya made international headlines, one Kenyan politician said the lions should be isolated and that they probably learned it from the bad behaviour of the tourists they have seen on safari!!!!
