In this episode, we show you our February 2022 Retro Video Game Pickups we scored via Whatnot, eBay, and Facebook Marketplace.

I don't generally don't do pickup videos, and there are a few reasons why. My taste in games is pretty different than others, so I don't know that my pickups are the most interesting. I also don't generally pick up a ton of stuff as I am pretty discerning about what I pick up and where. Without any conventions that I am attending until April, I didn't expect to pick up much of anything. Then February happened, and boy, it was a banger of a month. What did we get and from where?

Ok, I have to admit, I made out like a fat rat this month and I hope you can see why I wanted to do a pickups video. Whatnot has been a real delight for me to find games at a decent price, and I like that, once you've won one listing, each subsequent listing ships for only $1. That really saved me a lot of money when it came to that model 2 Genesis when it came to shipping! The one thing I can't recommend highly enough with Whatnot, however, is don't get caught up in the excitement of the auction. I always have Gameye open next to me when I am watching a listing, just to make sure I am not overpaying for something. Yes, I like Supporting the sellers, but I am not going to do so to my detriment.

I am really excited to fire up the Samsung Nuon again and see how Ballistic both looks & plays. See, you can use the remote control as an actual controller, but I have no idea how good or terrible this experience might be. In the end, I think I really am going to simply flip this system, it is not something I have a ton of nostalgia or interest in collecting for. But I can at least say that, at one time, I did have a Nuon and game in my collection.

The gifts from the Pixel Game Squad were really nice and unexpected, especially the red Xbox controller. I have to admit that I'll probably take the battery cover off and preserve that, just because of the sentimental nature of the gift. Yes, I'm not the biggest fan of the Xbox controller, but this is now one of my favorites in my collection.

Finally, we gotta talk about that Wii Facebook Marketplace find! For $25 it was a killer deal...mostly. The price was right and there's room here for me to make money, but everything stank to high heaven of pot. I've never been into it, I don't like it, and I've never liked the smell. Thankfully the games and system didn't stink too badly and didn't require much cleaning, but the Nunchucks, Mario Kart Wheel, and Wii Remote silicone sleeves were lost causes.

Overall I picked up some solid games, some to flip and some to add to the collection. I don't see March being this crazy, but you never know as I just got my first Whatnot pickup already. If you want to see a video like this again in the future, let me know in the comments!!
