Russ Lyman's Jason Cosplay at Midwest Gaming Classic 2022? #Shorts

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and we saw one of the best Cosplays of another Cosplay ever at the 2022 Midwest Gaming Classic. A good friend of the channel, Russ Lyman, created an NES-accurate version of the Jason costume, and he has worn it at multiple conventions since 2018. While we were at the 2022 Midwest Gaming Classic, we saw what we thought was the Jason Cosplay, but we knew Russ wasn't coming to the show. So what was going on here? Was it Jason? Was it Russ?!?!

We finally caught up with the slasher by the Whatnot Booth and confirmed that it was not Russ, however, it was someone who was a fan of and inspired by Russ. He had stated that he followed and was a fan of Russ and his cosplay, which inspired him to attempt to duplicate it. He did mention that he was having some issues with the paint flaking off the shoes, but we spoke a bit on how he could potentially help with paint adhesion.

While I am not a cosplayer myself, I love to see things like this, those who are inspired by what others have created. It was also fantastic hearing this fan share his admiration and appreciation for what Russ did, and how he was able to study and replicate his efforts. This is one of the best things about our hobby, and I look forward to seeing more of this in the future.
