Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? Elon Musk, Craig Wright, Nick Szabo, and Linus Torvalds have all been named as the real Satoshi. Is this name just a pseudonym? In 2008, a person or group of people going by the name 'Satoshi Nakamoto' published a paper that sparked the creation of what is now known as "cryptocurrency." The study, titled "Bitcoin, Essentially a Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System," described the use of a peer-to-peer network to solve the problem of double-spending. Now, fourteen years on, after the cryptocurrency's recent price climb, Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous developer of bitcoin, has risen to the 15th richest person in the world.
