08.21.22 "Milestones of Healing"

Milestones are as ancient as the old Roman Empire. The Romans put carved stones at various places along its historic roads that served certain purposes. They told the traveler how far he or she had come from a particular city, and the milestones also showed the traveler how far he or she had yet to go to a different city. Sometimes they told the traveler who the current emperor was. In general usage today we say “milestone" to indicate an achievement, in other words how far we have come, forgetting it is also the function of a milestone to tell us how far we have yet to go – and perhaps they should indicate who the "boss" in charge is. In the healing of the pandemic health crisis several milestones were reached recently including the new CDC guidelines which say we shouldn’t treat the vaccinated any different from the unvaccinated, and that there is no reason to test non-symptomatic people. "WooHoo!" However let’s not forget that milestones like this also should be telling as how far we have yet to go, which is possibly much further than we think. "The teacher of God needs this period of respite. He has not yet come as far as he thinks. Yet when he is ready to go on, he goes with mighty companions beside him." (OrEd.Mn.4.8) It wouldn't hurt if the milestones let us know that God was in charge too. Join Rev. Tony on Sunday as he explores miracles of healing achieved, and miracles of healing as yet to come, especially when we acknowledge God is in charge. 28 min. SUBSCRIBE & SHARE
