São Conrado is a neighborhood in the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Its human development index, in 2000, was 0.873, the 38th best in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro (result obtained due to the fact that the calculation of its index was carried out together with the Vidigal community).[5] It presents great social inequality: on one side, there are luxury condominiums, and, on the other, there is the community of Rocinha.
