US military carried out airstrikes on eastern Syria early on Wednesday. Iran called the attack on Syria a terrorist act against popular groups and fighters resisting foreign occupiers.

Tehran has denied any link with targets hit by the U.S. in Syria. Syria has repeatedly condemned US continued military presence in the country.
