Dog rescue worker has heard time letting pup go to new owners😢

My brother picked this stray up off the side of the road. She was half starved and dehydrated from our Alabama heat. He brought her to my house. I brushed and scrubbed for hours. We have her food and lots of TLC for the next few days. He fell in love with her quickly but kept saying he just couldn’t keep her so I started looking for her a forever home. I unexpectedly found her a good home and we went to take her to them. We had over an hours drive to meet up with the new owners . The dog rode with its head in Mikes lap the whole way. Occasionally looking up at him with those loving eyes of hers. I kept seeing tears well up in his eyes. He held it together most of the way. Then we let everyone meet. After one last hug Mike had to make a hasty retreat, his eyes full of tears. I almost regret finding the new home. It’s not alway easy doing the right thing after you’ve invested your heart and love into such a sweet pup.
