Note: This Conference was held on April 22, 2022 prior to the Dobbs v. Jackson decision by the Supreme Court June 24, 2022 landmark decision that the Constitution of the United States does not confer a right to abortion.

The pro-life movement finds itself at a hopeful time; watching the Supreme Court of the United States to see if it will finally overturn Roe v. Wade. Since the decision in this case in 1973, over 62 million preborn children have been lost to abortion. Many believe that overturning Roe v. Wade is the ultimate victory for the pro-life movement.

However, overturning Roe does not end abortion, it simply returns the power to the states. So, how should states respond to this changing landscape? North Carolina in a Post-Roe America is an event that will bring together thought leaders from across the state and the country to discuss this important topic at this critical time.

Human Coalition and North Carolina Faith and Freedom Coalition held a one day conference to take a closer look into the future of pro-life work in North Carolina after the possible overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Session III is the legislative panel with NC State Representative Kristin Baker (Cabarrus County), NC State Representative Dean Arp (Union County), State Senator Ted Alexander (Cleveland, Gaston and Lincoln Counties), and State Senator Amy Galey (Alamance and Guilford Counties). Session III is moderated by Julie Scott Emmons from Human Coalition.
