Let's play Karanos Solitaire, a unique game of patience for computer game lovers. This is a solitaire game where the player must use the entire deck of cards. To do this the player must group them together into combinations. To make a combination the cards must be moved to the top row. There are different card combinations that create different amounts of points. The player can choose to skip a card. When this is done the card is placed in the back of the deck from the top row. The player's points are reduced by 1 for every card skipped.

Now you know all the rules to become a master of Karanos Solitaire. Here is how the points are calculated:

Pair is two of a kind – 2 points
Chain is a sequence of cards – 3 points
Flush is the same suit of cards – 3 points
Royal is a chain and a flush – 7 points
Tripple is three of a kind – 8 points

I am fascinated by this game because of my connection to the solitaire game beat the devil. It relies on the game mechanics of using the whole deck and making matches. Both games rely on the skill of card tracking to create the best strategic plays.

I was in love with this game immediately. My appreciation comes from the pixel aesthetic, simplicity in the menu system, and of course the satisfying clicks. This game gets played a lot throughout the day. In between content uploads I can bang out a handful of rounds.

My top score is 50 points. Beat that! An average game for maybe is about 30 points. To do well you have to rely on chance and being able to know what cards have been used already. The player is presented with a set of runes that show you what cards are available for play in the deck. This can be used to keep track of the match possibilities. It is harder than you think to keep track of this. Sometimes the best way to go about this game is the move one card to the top row at a time, and play the best cards you have.
