Great Migration Wildebeest Crossing | Maasai Mara, Kenya | Zebra Plains

The annual migration of wildebeest from Tanzania's Serengeti into Kenya's Maasai Mara and back is one of the seven wonders of the natural world. The wildebeest migration is under threat from climate change, habitat loss, and unethical tourism. At Zebra Plains Mara Camp the migration is only a very small part of the year round safari offering and it is not the main focus of the camp.
In this video we see a wildebeest herd approach the Mara river, initially wary of the fast flowing water that could be hiding any number of crocodiles. Eventually the wildebeest herd start to cross but find the opposite bank is steep and hard to climb causing a bottleneck. Every year the treacherous crossings of the main rivers clam the lives of thousands of wildebeest but this crossing was successful for all the participants.
