Longface The Lion | Nomadic Male Lion | Maasai Mara Safari | Zebra Plains

A lovely sighting of the nomadic male lion known as "Longface" crossing the plains of the Maasai Mara before stopping for a drink.

Longface the lion was born into the Muguro lion pride in 2011 and would therefore have been sired by the 4Km males (Blackie, Lipstick, and brother). For a while he was part of a coalition with a male known as "Mohawk" who was likely from the same pride and from late 2015/early 2016 they ruled over the Rongai lion pride.but Mohawk was killed by the famous lion coalition, the Notches. Longface ruled alone for a while until the Hammerkop male lion coalition moved in in 2017 and he became nomadic. recently he has been seen with a younger male lion that came from the Egyptian Goose lion pride and the two are looking for a chance to takeover a new pride.
