What should have been a neutral offer ("Get the experimental injection if you want to; if not, that's fine too"), was in fact a bribe combined with massive propaganda, and subsequently full-out coercion (through exclusion, shaming and unjustified removal of basic civil rights).

"There's something sinister [=giving the impression that something harmful or evil is happening or will happen] here. This is not normal."

The government behavior is so suspicious that your instincts should have caused you to reject the injection, even if you were initially inclined to get it.
