Judges 4-5 “Deborah and Barak”

So, the cycle begins all over again…they just had their longest period of peace recorded in the Book of Judges…80 years…
Ehud dies…and they are back to worshiping idols which will once again bring judgment against them from God.
Israel reminds me of the man who was freed of demon possession in Luke’s gospel and his life is swept clean and put in order…
But he didn’t fill his life with the holy Spirit and the demon came back 7xs stronger.
That’s Israel…each time they are at peace…their land is swept clean and put in order…they do not correct what brought them into oppression…
And they are oppressed even worse than before.
So, the Lord gives them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan…and now all the Canaanite gods that they worship.
The people are once again under an oppressive government…and a cruel military leader named Sisera.
