30 years after the Fatwa was put on Salman Rushdie for writing the Satanic Verses he was brutally attacked in Chautauqua, New York on August 12, 2022. Much like the horrific murder of filmmaker Theo Van Gough in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the Charlie Hebdo & Samuel Paty killings in France and the recent teacher in the UK that had to go into hiding after showing his class a cartoon of Muhammad. These are wake up calls of the cost of free speech and that the fight for it is far from being won in the West.
